Pulp Arts, Civic Minded Five, and Circuit Church are excited to present accordionist, multi-instrumentalist and composer Walt McClements making his Florida debut with two shows hot off the heels of his multi-show run at Big Ears Festival. Walt’s compositions create patient and emotional meditations that nod to drone and ambient music. Walt’s latest album On a Painted Ocean for Western Vinyl centers around the processed accordion, weaving in other sonic tools including synth, pipe organ and trumpet.
Prior to releasing music under his own name, Walt had been a touring member of Weyes Blood, and Hurray for the Riff Raff. He has also collaborated with harpist Mary Lattimore, releasing Rain on the Road for Thrill Jockey.
Walt will be performing first on Thursday April 2 at Timucua Arts’ the white house, with an opening performance by local analog synth artist and Circuit Church curator Pressurewave.
Next on Friday April 3, Walt will perform alongside Gregg Kowalsky and Varsity Tuba Quartet at Hippodrome Theatre. Hedy Starratt will be providing live visuals throughout the evening.
