A native of Hartford, Connecticut, Scott “Skyntyte” Free has been based out of and has performed in North Central Florida since the eighties, when he was recruited by The Originator, Bo Diddley. Free has also worked with P-Funk music genius Bernie Worrell and currently emcees, sings lead & background and plays guitar for Parliament-Funkadelic off-shoot, Original P featuring “Shady Grady” Thomas. For over ten years, Free’s band Fast Lane, has entertained all across the state of Florida and from time to time, traveling musicians like drummer Justin Faulkner (Branford Marsalis), Peter Keys (Lynyrd Skynyrd) or many of the areas top-shelf musicians can be seen sitting in with Fast Lane. Musicians such as drummer Richard Patrick, keyboardist Zac Chester, vocalist/harmonacist Ron Antunovich, and bassist Keith Ladd are a few great local musicians who along with Free, ensure a high level of musicality and professionalism. If you haven’t experienced Fast Lane, your need for speed will never be satisfied... until the next show. If you are experienced, Deby will be driving Mr. Daisy crazy, Vern will be under the hood, Keith will be going through the Drive-thru and Skyntyte will rebuild your transmission.
