LNY, Monica Compana, Faye Williams, and Mia Loving all share a proximity to the phenomenon of the Street Art Festival, that is increasingly employed by local governments and civic institutions for heralding a renewed interest in urban living. As artists, curators, organizers and activist, all panelists share an active interest in maintaining an equitable American city in the future and what role public art, especially the medium of the mural, will play in 'revitalization.' Each panelist will present their story from their city and how it connects with an international network of organizations capturing the liberal Street Art ethos and reproducing a historically criminal medium as a legal and sanction method of responding to place.
