Paul Rudd will speak at the University of Florida on Feb. 1 at an event hosted by ACCENT Speakers Bureau in partnership with the Jewish Student Union.
The event will be moderated by New York Times Culture Reporter Dave Itzkoff who frequently writes about film, television and comedy. He is the author of three books and his writing has also appeared in GQ, Vanity Fair, Wired and New York Magazine.
Rudd was last seen as the title character in Marvel’s highly anticipated Ant-Man. The film grossed over $500 million worldwide and Marvel has confirmed its sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, will be released in 2018. Rudd recently finished filming Rob Burnett’s The Fundamentals of Caring, which is based on Jonathan Evison’s novel The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving and will premiere at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.
Rudd has starred in a number of memorable films, including Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Knocked Up, This is 40, Role Models, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Clueless, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You, Man and many more.
In 2012, Rudd returned to the Broadway stage in Craig Wright’s Grace starring opposite Michael Shannon, Kate Arrington, and Edward Asner at the Cort Theatre. His other stage credits include starring opposite Julia Roberts and Bradley Cooper in Richard Greenberg’s Broadway production of Three Days of Rain, Twelfth Night at Lincoln Center, Neil Labute’s Bash in both New York and Los Angeles as well as Labute’s The Shape of Things in London and New York. Rudd made his West End debut in the London production of Robin Phillips’ Long Days Journey Into Night opposite Jessica Lange.
On television, Rudd was the co-writer and co-creator of the critically acclaimed series Party Down on Starz. He also garnered wide recognition with a recurring role on the TV sitcom Friends as Mike Hannigan. Additionally, Rudd was recently seen reprising his role as Andy in David Wain’s Wet Hot American Summer along with the original cast for an 8-episode limited television series based on the cult film.
