July is all about car chases--70's Road Trip of DEATH!
July 7, we'll be kicking things off with 1971's DUEL and VANISHING POINT.
At 9pm, DUEL. A salesman in a red 1971 Plymouth Valiant cuts off a truck driver. The trucker takes it personally, and thus begins a deadly game of cat and mouse across the two-lane blacktop stretching through the California desert. One of Spielberg's earliest and most exciting films.
At 11pm VANISHING POINT. A car delivery driver makes an unwise bet that he can get his next delivery--a white 1970 Dodge Challenge--from Denver to San Francisco in less than 15 hours. There's no time to lose... or sleep... or stop. For anything, even the cops. And how can any of us stop, with our past always chasing so close behind us?
