This month the CMC Book Club will be reading Constructive Criticism: A Handbook by Gracie Lyons. Lyons wrote Constructive Criticism to respond to the increasingly harsh and unproductive debates held within the New Communist Movement in the 1970s. Many of us have experienced similar issues today: political debate and criticism often are reduced to attempts to utterly destroy potential allies and collaborators. At worst, this even leads to abusive and cult-like control of rank-and-file socialists.
