Victoria de Benedicty, 23, is a native Floridian multimedia artist, musician, writer, and equestrian athlete whose work deals with the strange and troubled inner dialogue that occurs after trauma and abuse; the way that what was once inconceivable may suddenly make sense, and how it can be hard to recognize and appreciate the beauty of life whilst loving it very deeply, and how escapism, idealization and troubling thought patterns can arise, and the sincere bliss, friendship, power, and profound self-realization that can result from it all. Mainly working in pencil, charcoal, oil paints, photography and clay sculpture, her images are highly colorful or textured in appearance, and detail oriented techniques with chaotic and otherworldly landscapes and unique execution.
To be ruthlessly forsaken and to survive is to win the battle to see all the colors of the rainbow after one’s vision has been unjustly dulled.
