North Florida native Jesse Smith returns home for a special preview showcase of his upcoming CD, destined to be a milestone in his blossoming career. A protege of famed Blackfoot guitarist Charlie Hargrett, Jesse was adopted as a young teen into Gainesville's music community. Over the years he has honed his chops with an incredibly diverse array of gigs, from guitarist in George Clinton's P-Funk to steady work as a New Orleans session player. He describes his own style alternately as "Derek Trucks meets James Taylor in a funky blues club in New Orleans at 2 am" or "swampy, bluesy Southern soul."
