The symposium will be facilitated by two activist-scholars, Tina and Travis discussing the events surrounding the refugee crisis and how it has developed in Europe over the past 6 months. Taking a chronological approach, the situation of millions of people seeking asylum in Europe is depicted. As several nations within fortress Europe begin closing their boarders, right-wing governments are elected and xenophobic citizen movements emerge, Europe finds itself in a state of crisis.
