"Free Fridays" Concert Series
Roots reggae band The Irie Ones (formerly Iration) will play a “Free Fridays” concert Friday Aug. 15 at the Bo Diddley Community Plaza.
The Irie Ones have been playing reggae music since the 1990s. They have numerous original songs and cover original reggae music as played in the ‘70s and ‘80s by reggae’s musical pioneers such as Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, and Toots and the Maytals. According to the band’s guitarist Mark Stewart, “…reggae has truly gone international…with its emphasis on positive lyrics, it is a powerful force for unity in this troubled world.”
