Vince Gilligan is the man behind the Emmy award-winning crime drama that the Guinness Book of World Records has called the highest-rated show of all time. Premiering in January 2008, the show follows a high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with lung cancer who turns to producing and selling meth to secure his family's future. The September 2013 series finale brought in 10.3 million views. Gilligan received the 2008 Writer's Guild for Episodic Drama and accepted a Peabody Award to honor the show's first season. The American Film Institute named "Breaking Bad" one of the best shows of 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
Before "Breaking Bad", Gilligan worked as a writer and executive producer on "The X-Files," sharing the Golden Globe Awards in 1996 and 1997 for Best Dramatic Series. He co-created Fox Television's "The Lone Gunman" and wrote the films "Wilder Napalm" and "Home Fries." Gilligan will be discussing Breaking Bad and his life as a writer and show creator.
