The Latinamerican electroacoustic music to be performed in Concerts 1, 4, and 7, ranges from compositions by pioneers in the field from their countries to young composers as well as women composers. For instance, Alberto Villalpando is a pioneer of electroacoustic music practice in Bolivia and Juan Blanco pioneered Cuban electroacoustic music (an interview with him appeared in the Computer Music Journal 21:2), Elsa Justel is an Argentine woman composer now living in Paris pursuing her PhD under the guidance of Horacio Vaggione at the University of Paris VIII, Manuel Rocha-Iturbide is a Mexican composer and researcher who is also working toward his PhD with Vaggione. The works by Ricardo Dal Farra and Alejandro Iglesia-Rossi, both from Argentina, are the respectively winners of the "ICMA Commission Awards 1996" and "1996 International Rostrum of Electroacoustic Music Competition of the UNESCO."
